Iniakuk Lake Wilderness Lodge

Iniakuk Lake Wilderness Lodge is an exclusive fly-in luxury wilderness lodge 220 miles (350 km) north of Fairbanks in Alaska’s Brooks Range. We offer comfort, quality and solitude 60 miles (100 km) north of the Arctic Circle on the edge of Gates of the Arctic National Park. The main lodge is 100% solar powered providing 24-hour electricity, running water and a wide range of amenities that are unmatched in Alaska’s Far North.

The Lodge has been our home since 1974. We built it by hand, one local log at a time, and we extend that personal treatment to the care of our clients and the surrounding countryside. Fresh baked sourdough breads, pastries and decadent desserts accompany wild Alaskan salmon at the dining table and our salad greens are grown on site.

We cater specifically to each client – this means individual attention from your personal guide for the duration of your stay. We believe it takes Alaskans to show you Alaska and for over 40 years we have specialized in intimate groups, individual attention and warm hospitality.

Our all-inclusive fly-out tours begin and end in Fairbanks so we can take care of the details.

Situated at the north end of a lake five miles long and a mile wide, Iniakuk Lake Wilderness Lodge is overlooked by 4,000 foot (1200 meter) peaks which mark the onset of the Brooks Range and provide a stunning backdrop to our secluded location. The beautiful sand and gravel beaches along Iniakuk Lake are perfect for an early morning stroll or shore lunch later in the day. We have a small fleet of canoes for exploring the local coves and inlets, or pick out a scenic ridge and spend the day hiking.

“We love Iniakuk and the Arctic! Its silent beauty and remote location really allow you to take a break from your hectic life and ‘get off the grid’ for a while. It was hard to leave and we plan to go back.”

- Huntsville, Alabama

“Our times at the Iniakuk Lodge and on our excursions with the Gaedekes are etched in our memories as one of the highest ranked vacations we have ever experienced.”

- Merritt Island, Florida

“I had some reservations about staying in such a remote place, being off the grid and flying in on a small plane. Truly, all my worries were unfounded. We will be talking about it for a very long time.”

- Santa Rosa, California

“A luxury experience in a remote, spectacular setting.”

- Dallas, Texas

“If you have time, take a flight seeing tour. The arctic is breathtaking from the air. For those interested in seeing all the national parks, I’d recommend using Iniakuk as your home base for Gates of the Arctic and Kobuk.”

- Boulder, Colorado

“No phones!!!! Don’t change that. The satellite phone for emergencies is perfect.”

- Chagrin Falls, Ohio

“We could have gone mushing in Europe much more cheaply, but not for five days without encountering roads, paths, visitor centres, other people or any sign of civilization aside from the cabins we stayed in. I have climbed mountains all over the world but never been anywhere as pure and untouched as the Brooks Range.”

- London, England
