ALL-INCLUSIVE
Comfort in the Wilderness

At Iniakuk Lake Wilderness Lodge we offer luxury and comfort, off the beaten path, and miles from anything you have ever done before. Here, your experience is our lifestyle, 60 miles (100km) north of the Arctic Circle on the edge of Gates of the Arctic National Park.

The main lodge is 100% solar powered providing 24-hour electricity, running water and a wide range of amenities that are unmatched in Alaska’s Far North.

Your trip north begins in Fairbanks, where a one-hour flight takes you north of the Arctic Circle in a 9-passenger Cessna Caravan to Coldfoot. Coldfoot is a truck stop along the trans Alaska pipeline road and not much more than a restaurant, gas station and airport. There is also an interagency visitor’s center for Gates of the Arctic National Park. In Coldfoot you will change to a 4-passenger float plane for the final 45 minute leg to Iniakuk Lake. The total journey from Fairbanks is 220 miles (350km).

The main lodge sits back off the lake a few hundred feet and contains the kitchen, dining area, 3 upstairs bedrooms, and a shared bath. Closer to the lake edge is a separate guest suite with two downstairs bedrooms, attached full bath, and a large upstairs lounge that overlooks the entire lake.

This is the ultimate in Alaskan experiences and comfort 60 miles (100km) north of the Arctic Circle, six miles (10km) outside Gates of the Arctic National Park and 180 degrees from anything you have ever done before.

We offer all-inclusive trips from Iniakuk Lake Wilderness Lodge into Alaska’s Brooks Range and Gates of the Arctic National Park. Each booking is for exclusive use of the entire lodge, you will get the whole place and staff to yourself. We customize every tour and recommend a stay from 3 to 5 days in length, but we can arrange longer and shorter itineraries as well.

Opportunities for viewing wildlife and bird watching here are endless, depending on the time of your stay, and we are happy to provide local bird lists. While it is possible to spot large game around Iniakuk Lake, a flight-seeing trip offers the best opportunity to see both the land and the animals in a truly wild setting. Fishing for Lake Trout, Northern Pike, and Arctic Grayling is excellent in Iniakuk Lake which is 200 feet (60 meters) deep and ice bound for seven months of the year.

Iniakuk Lake Wilderness Lodge is ideal for hiking opportunities at every fitness level and we encourage our guests to discover the wilderness off the beaten path. A private guide is included with each booking, available any time during your stay to help you explore the area or roast the perfect marshmallow around a campfire.

We suggest you hike, fish, photograph and repeat, the views and reflections of Iniakuk Lake are fantastic and the air is fresh and clear. There are no jet skis or airboats to interrupt the many ducks and loons that live on the lake and our solar system is as quiet as the midnight sun that powers it 24 hours a day.
